About the event
Immersive experience designed to tap into your inner protagonist while embracing pleasure, joy, and compassionate connections with yourself and others. Guided by experienced therapists and supported by our equine partners, this camp offers a unique blend of personal growth, equine-assisted therapy, and adventurous activities.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This camp is open to women of all backgrounds and identities who are seeking a supportive and empowering space to explore their inner strength, joy, and compassion. Join us for a week of transformation, connection, and celebration as we harness the power of sisterhood, equine wisdom, and feminist principles to cultivate a life of purpose and fulfillment.
Prior experience is not necessary - just motivation to learn, the sense of adventure in doing something different, the willingness to work hard, and wit to put it all together. Whether you are a total beginner who wants to be familiar with horses or a seasoned equestrian who is feeling fear or wants a new way to be in relationship with horses, we will help you hone your skills through a variety of lessons, lectures, games, and on-the-ground work with our horses.
For a few days, you get to escape from “real life” to experience the joys of going to camp, with all the appreciation as an adult! Through our camp activities, you will find greater connection to yourself and our equine partners, leading to more self-compassion, how your connection to animals, and self leads to joy and pleasure.
- Cultivating compassion and empathy in your interactions through mindfulness and meditation.
- Fostering a deeper connection with yourself, others, and the world around you through body scans and insightful conversations
- Harnessing your innate purpose with confidence and grace.
- Embracing vulnerability as a source of strength and authenticity to forge authentic connections.
- Enjoying the pleasure of eating good food, playing games or other "Main Character" activities, arts and crafts
- Connecting safely and confidently with equine partners through activities, mindfulness exercises, and interactions.
- Learning about equine behavior to understand them and understand self/others
ABOUT FACILITATOR
Leslie Cashion, LMFT is a licensed therapist and life-long equestrian. She is uniquely suited to assist you on a journey of discovery of self in partnership with equines in nature. Her priority is connecting with you to collaborate on your journey of healing and self-discovery. She believes we each have answers to our struggles inside of us and sometimes it takes a helpful human or equine guide to discover the pathway to healing. She wants to help provide a safe place to
explore who you have been, who you are, and who you want to be in partnership with our equine friends.
Leslie is a feminist, healing-focused, equine assisted psychotherapist who works with individuals, couples, teens, kids, and families. In the office she partners with Nugget her canine therapy partner and in the barn, she partners with equines. Before becoming a therapist, Leslie was a professional carriage driving coach and trainer up to the FEI level, but loved working with equines and students at all levels. Most recently, she is passionate about relationships with
animals, studying Freedom Based Training and Choice Tribe.
